Wonderful to meet you last night at the Burlington Country Club. I’m so glad we sat next to each other. I would like to stay in touch.

And I look forward to reading your books, stories and essays!

All the best, and thanks for the stimulating conversation.

Hello Meg! Nice to see you pop up here. Lovely to meet you as well. Enjoyed our talk (the time flew by!) and so pleased for your dad. To be continued sometime, I hope!

    Hi Denise!

Beautiful blog! Hope all is well.

I was hoping to connect with you regarding my daughter’s school – The Integrated Arts Academy at HO Wheeler. Would that be ok? I’m wondering how best to do that?

    Best wishes,

  3. Hi Denise,

My name is Rachel LeBeau and I’m writing to you about Heart. You and I both share a love of writing; I believe it’s power to heal and change is so incredible.

This year I launched Heart: a magazine and movement that celebrates women’s stories and believes that real is better.

I started Heart last year when my son, Henry, was born with heart disease. After successful surgery and consistent monitoring, Henry is presently healthy. Holding him through such difficult times made me realize that the time to live the life I wanted and deserved was/is now.
I wanted to find a way to share that message and encourage other women in their journeys. I was tired of reading magazines that said I should be better or different because no matter how many I bought, my butt wasn’t tighter, my house wasn’t more organized, and the things I felt ashamed about didn’t go away.
I wanted a magazine to tell me I was OK exactly as I was, and when I struggled to find that on magazine shelves, I decided to make it happen for myself and for other women.
We have been sharing women’s life stories online at twice weekly, and have just opened presales of the magazine’s first print volume which will ship in December.
Denise, if you’re still reading at this point, thank you so much. I am beyond appreciative of your time. I know you can’t support every project that comes knocking on your door, but I believe that with your help, Heart could encourage more women than we could ever reach without it.
Would you consider helping us to get the word out about our presales this week? We’ve reached $10,000 out of our $15,000 goal, but if we don’t sell enough to reach 15, we get none of the money. What about contributing a piece to Volume II? I’m sure you have stories that would inspire so many.
I believe in this so very much and would be so honored to have your help.
Women hear enough messages that say they aren’t good enough, and I am so passionate about bringing a new conversation to their hearts.
Here’s a video we made about the project:
    Thank you so much, Denise!

      Hello Rachel,
Sorry for the late reply. What’s the latest with your project?
